1978
Meet our Founder, Mr.Aseng. After a long journey from Bandung all the way to Bali, he finally settled in Bali and start working with silver. He met a lot of suppliers and craftsman on the way and start building relationships. The materials that we were working on was a complete set of 925 sterling silver, precious stones, shells, petrified woods, and more on.
1989
Maharani initially worked in silver jewelry called Maharani Silver/ Maharani Actual Design (M.A.D), until it eventually developed into a craft business.

Maharani decided to also expand into the handicrafts business. The range of crafts at that time was from all material and all market segment as we have to supply many different segments of buyer. Combining jewelry techniques with natural materials and precious stones from Mother Earth, creating unique look and feel in knobs for doors, furniture and trinket boxes.
2011
Maharani joined the ECP program by CBI and becomes a member of BEDO. As Maharani saw the need to adjust with the upcoming business, to match with what current market needs. 2012
Maharani joined ECP program by CBI in Netherland and attended Vietnam lifestyle exhibition
2013
Maharani attended Ambinete Frankfurt. Consumers can find home decor and accessories in natural materials such as stone, metal, wood that have been created using hand-made techniques.
2014
Maharani attended Maison Object Exhibition As time goes by, Pak Aseng fell into a stroke, making it difficult for him to continue his duties
2015
Irene Setiawati takes over as director replacing Mr. Aseng duties. Irene cares about empowering and continuously improving the skills of her workforce and craftsmen. She also aims to equip them with the tools they needed in order to build a sustainable business for her company long term. Her goal is to decrease poverty through a fair trade action. She inherited “Maharani Craft” from her father (Mr. Aseng), who ran the company as a founder and a designer. 2015
Maharani attended Indonesia Fashion Week, and at that time Maharani launched a jewelry brand called, Manika Jewelry to keep perpetuating the beginning of Maharani story that is based on jewelry. Manika is a jewelry that is handmade and uses brass as its basic material combined with natural stones.
2015
In this year Maharani joined Fair Trade Finest Program.
2016
Maharani joined Ambiente Fair Trade Finest Pavillior. Maharani achieved INACRAFT&FEMINA awards, Manika got the eyes of the curator, Pak Samuel Wattimena, and chosen to be in INACRAFT 2016 Ministry of trade Pafilion as a unique jewellery.
2017
Maharani attended Ambiente. Maharani attended NY NOW, which was held at Javits Center, New York, was classified as an international trade show specializing in displaying products from the craft sub-sector in the home, lifestyle and gift categories. NY NOW was attended by more than 2,400 designers and attended by more than 24,000 people from 50 states in the United States and more than 80 countries around the world. On October 23 2020, Mr. Aseng Passed Away, due to his stroke.

Maharani attended Instore Tsuruya in Kumamoto Japan.
